For the same reason, I have had a real problem with "The Secret" and other Law of Attraction-based teachings that are so popular these days I'm tempted to call them a fad. My gut told me something was missing — they had taken a profound truth of the Universe and oversimplified it. To say nothing of blaming the victim — something we love to do in this society.

You have pinpointed what it was that was missing, why I had such a hard time with the our thoughts create our reality philosophy. The missing piece of the puzzle is the whole idea of not judging an experience or event as good or bad, not judging ME as good or bad because of attracting that experience. Plus you reminded me that I can choose how to think about something that shows up in my life. I don't have to go to the automatic knee jerk reaction that I have somehow failed because my life isn't a bed of roses. What a relief!

Thank you, Lisa. I think Dr. Dyer would be very proud of you right now. You are a worthy student of his teachings. I've read almost everything he's written, but I think this is the first time I've really understood what he means by flow. Thanks for explaining it in a way I could get it — finally!
